How do I make a CV for government?

Design. First of all keep it professional and simple. Forget
about creative CV formats when applying to a governmental
entity.

Experience. You should have experience in a particular type
of work for a certain period of time to apply for federal
jobs. Your skills and experience should meet the
qualifications and requirements listed in the job
description.

CV type. It is highly recommended to write your CV in
chronological order, and include all dates (start-end dates
including month and year), hours worked per week, level of
experience for each obtained position.

Additonal info. If you have volunteer experience or
previously worked at community organization – include such
experience. Some of your transferable skills might be
important for the current organization.

Listing. Use numbers, percentages or dollars to highlight
your accomplishments. Bullet lists also help you to point
your main achievements.

Customize your resume for each job position, tailor it if
needed, include all relevant skills and experience that
relates to the job you’re applying. Add specific terms and
abbreviations from the field to your CV.

Look through quality federal CV examples to create it the
right way by your own or use the help of professionals – it’s
for you to decide.
